SRI LANKAN MUSLIMS APPALLED AT SUPERMARKET TERRORIST ATTACK | Letter to PM NEWZEALAND

Right Honourable Jacinda Arden,
Prime Minister of New Zealand,
Level 8, Executive Wing,
Parliament Buildings,
Wellington,
New Zealand

Madam Prime Minister,

SRI LANKAN MUSLIMS APPALLED AT SUPERMARKET TERRORIST ATTACK,

Members of the World Forum of Sri Lankan Muslims, are appalled at the terrorist attack in the West Auckland Supermarket on Friday the 3rd of this month.

The stabbings were reported to have been committed by a Sri Lankan Muslim, Adil Samsudeen domiciled in New Zealand, purportedly sympathiser of the terrorist organisation ISIS.

While condemning and expressing the revulsion of such an act, not only of the whole Sri Lankan community but of the whole Muslim community in the world over, The World Muslim Forum of Sri Lankan Muslims offer our sympathies to the those suffered or succumbed to the stabbing and to their families. Although, it might not be any comfort after the event, we can assure you that, not only the Muslims, but the whole Sri Lankan nation, who themselves had been subjected to such an attack, are with the people of New Zealand and offer our support against any form of terrorism committed by anyone irrespective of faith considerations.

The holy Qur’an absolutely forbids such wanton killing in Chapter 5 verse 32 in uncertain terms as “[whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely, and whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely”

We remain,

Yours sincerely,

Capt. A.G.A.Barrie, P Eng., BSc (Eng. Hons).

Chairman
